Empowering voices and fostering connections, the Comet Chronicle is an accessible platform for sparking meaningful conversations and cultivating genuine understanding. We strive to illuminate diverse perspectives, amplify unheard voices, and build bridges within our community beyond the classroom by fostering a space where getting to know one another is not just a goal but a cherished outcome.

 

 

   Editorial Policy

Run by students for students, [newspaper name] recognizes Rush Henrietta Senior High School’s diversity and achievements, as well as our faults all to enhance the vibrant community. As such, [newspaper name] adheres to the following principles to provide a more reliable and informative platform:

  •  Integrity & Accuracy

We possess a dedication to reporting factually accurate and unbiased information; editors will diligently fact-check and sources will be verified. While editors do reserve the right to adjust quotes containing vulgarity, edits must be disclosed accordingly and quote falsification is prohibited. Issue coverages are fair, accurate, and impartial.

  •  Respectful Discourse

Opinion pieces are encouraged alongside open dialogue and debate; [newspaper name] fosters an environment where different beliefs and perspectives are respected and will encourage communication. We have a zero-tolerance policy regarding content that promotes hatred, discrimination, and/or violence. Media containing excessive vulgarity or profanity will be assessed by the editorial board.

Published content adheres to ethical guidelines in avoidance of conflicts of interest; the interests of the readers are prioritized. Through responsible reporting, we consider the potential impact that publications may have on individuals and the community.

Our mission consists of communication and giving a voice to those who are underrepresented; by featuring stories meant to highlight the diversity within our community celebrating different backgrounds, experiences, talents, and interests we strive for inclusivity.
